NVIDIA GeForce FX GPU Receives Immediate Endorsement From PC Industry

Industry-Leading PC and Add-In-Card OEMs Select Revolutionary New Graphics Processing Unit

LAS VEGAS, FALL COMDEX 2002, Nov. 18 — NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today announced a number of design wins with leading PC and graphics cards manufacturers for its just announced NVIDIA(R) GeForce(TM) FX graphics processing unit (GPU). The launch of the GeForce FX GPU, the industry’s first GPU to deliver cinematic effects to the PC desktop, has been met with broad global acceptance, ensuring the GeForce FX GPU will power next- generation personal computer systems and graphics boards.

“Once again, NVIDIA has broken with convention by redefining the limits of 3D graphics technology,” stated Jeff Fisher, executive vice president of worldwide sales at NVIDIA. “By enabling new levels of performance with the GeForce FX GPU, we have transformed cinematic computing from a dream into a reality.”

In coming weeks, the following PC OEMs and add-in card manufacturers will be offering products based on the NVIDIA GeForce FX GPU:

PC OEMs and System Builders

  • Alienware Corporation
  • CyberPower Inc.
  • iBUYPOWER Computer
  • Falcon Northwest
  • Fujitsu Siemens Computers
  • Hypersonic PC Systems
  • Vicious PC
  • VoodooPC

Add-in Card manufacturers

  • ASUS Computer International
  • BFG Technologies, Inc.
  • eVGA.com Corporation
  • Gainward Co. Ltd.
  • Leadtek Research Inc.
  • MSI Computer Corporation
  • PNY Technologies, Inc.

“By extending their performance and technology lead with the GeForce FX GPU, NVIDIA will continue to be the brand of choice for top tier OEMS, specialized system builders and PC enthusiasts,” said Dr. Jon Peddie, president of Jon Peddie Research, the leading analyst firm in graphics and multimedia ( www.jpr.com ). “Market leadership is nothing new for NVIDIA, and the combination of the GeForce FX GPU’s CineFX(TM) engine and the fact that NVIDIA is the only GPU manufacturer using a 0.13 micron process puts NVIDIA in the position to hold that spot for quite some time.”

“Customers will be able to experience a new level of graphics quality and performance with systems based on NVIDIA GeForce FX GPU and AMD Athlon(TM) XP processors,” said Rich Heye, AMD vice president of platform engineering and infrastructure, Computation Products Group. “AMD Athlon processors are the choice of Hollywood for creating eye-popping special effects. Customers can now have systems at home based on AMD Athlon XP processors, NVIDIA GeForce FX GPU and an NVIDIA nForce(TM)2-based motherboard, to best deliver digital media including 3D applications, online gaming, and digital video editing.”

“Pentium(R) 4 processor with Hyper-Threading Technology is the highest performance desktop processor available today. For the highest performance systems, it should be combined with the latest technologies, such as the GeForce FX GPU,” said Jason Ziller, Technology Initiatives Manager of Intel Corporation. “With its high level of performance, innovative features, and extraordinary rendering power, the NVIDIA GeForceFX GPU is a good match for the highest performance Pentium 4 processor-based computers.”

About the GeForce FX GPU

The NVIDIA GeForce FX GPU is the industry’s first GPU to deliver real- time, cinematic quality graphics and special effects on the desktop PC. Featuring the NVIDIA CineFX engine and support for high-level programming languages such as Cg, the GeForce FX GPU delivers visual effects on par with the hottest motion pictures. Packing nearly twice the number of transistors as previous NVIDIA GPUs, the GeForce FX GPU also utilizes the industry’s most advanced 0.13 micron manufacturing process and incorporates support for the latest high-speed DDR2 memories, AGP 8X, and NVIDIA Intellisample(TM) technology, enabling developers to create compelling content of unrivaled beauty, running at unmatched speeds.
